My requirement is to insert the membership details into CRM trhough MOSS and also retrive the same onto the portal when required. I would to achieve insert and display the customer information thorugh customely build webparts with in sharepoint but my data storage should be CRM. Any thoughts on this to implement.

I have read somewhere that I can achieve this by 2 ways 1) with MOSS BDC’s and 2) by writing the WebServices, which responsible to store and retreive the data between MOSS and CRM.

However I would need a very good article or a document which would help me in uderstand this entire process.

    Asalam-o-Alikum

i have just started to learn sharepoint. I installed the trial versions of windows 2008 and sharepoint server 2007.
In central administration of sahrepoint, i am trying to configure outgoing email

For the basic test of sending emails i am adding a user and i got this error

The user or users have been added successfully, but there was an error in sending the e-mail message. The server may not be set up correctly to send e-mail. To verify that e-mail is configured correctly, contact your server administrator

I tested that smtp service is running and tested the smtp by the telnet command with the localhost ip (127.0.0.1), ip of my system(192.168.10.161), computer name (brainshare) and the name of my domain (braindom.com)
    telnet 127.0.0.1 25
    telnet 192.169.10.161 25
    telnet brainshare 25
    telnet braindom.com 25
I got the reply from all these commands
In the configuration of outgoing email settings in central administration I have checked all the possibilities by adding the name of my system (brainshare), ip address of my system (192.168.10.161) and with the domain name (braindom.com) and entered the valid email address in from and reply fields but i am still getting this error. Is there anything needed to be set other than SMTP
.Any configuration in outlook or something else needed to be insatlled Any Help Thanks in advance
